Took my Bloggers' Bundle from Fat Quarter Shop
Actually, now I've posted that pic, I realise I've unintentionally left one of the fabrics out but never mind.
I took
Then I sewed it all together, cut out the pansy fabric individually, spray basted each one to where the solids intersected on the quilt and then secured them in place by quilting quite close (ish) together.
I wonder if I could get a job as a pattern writer...
And that was that.
Oh and I used a black polka dot for the binding.
And I found a rather funky backing fabric in a local shop here. It has the smallest selection of fabric I've ever seen but a rootling rummage did reveal a few hidden gems.
And you could probably knock the whole thing up over a rainy summer's weekend.
Because we know a thing or two about them round these parts.
the pansies thing is a bit mental. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWish we knew about rain here.
ReplyDeleteLove it, ish and all!

ha ha ha, love your directions & the quilt of course :) No point in beating around the bush! We're drowning over here too
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely quilt. The pansies are super, such a great addition to the whole colourful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat bundle is so you. Love the idea of mixing the rectangles and flying geese. I like the idea of ironing on fabric and then using the quilting to keep it in place. It could also be used to hide points that didn't match up. Not that that's why you did it. :)
ReplyDeleteRe: naming of quilts from the last post. I like to "name" my quilts how I would describe them (perhaps because I am lacking in imagination - or because fancy names tend to sound a bit pretentious when applied to the quilts I make). The Pansy Quilt or the Mauve Diamond Quilt -- it only breaks down when you have sewn so many quilts that the descriptors could be used for multiple quilts. So perhaps not a good idea in your case. :) I really like your Mauve Diamond quilt. I need to add a diamond quilt to my list.
Spinning pansies ... nice one ... pattern writing you say? Compared to the pattern I'm trying to follow at the moment, your instructions are far too fussy and precise! Lol ... Ok, so the pattern is instructions I wrote for myself on a scrap piece of paper, it all made sense at the time ... humpf.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely quilt and a lovely bundle! We are having a big drought, it would be nice to have some of your rainy weekends here.
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful! This pattern should be published in quilting magazine! I bought your bundle sone time ago and it waits patiently until I back to sewing:) its even more gorgeous in person!
ReplyDeleterain? Never heard of it! Love the bright colours - very you.
ReplyDeleteWow, you're all famous and that and have your own blogger bundle :) BTW you could TOTALLY write a pattern, it's just a case of fleshing out that, but it's almost all there
ReplyDeleteI love this bundle ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love this and that backing fabric is just so perfect!
ReplyDeleteI cannot decide which side I am most excited about – the pansies or the stamps.
ReplyDeleteThe stamps, gotta be the stamps 😜
DeleteWhat a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteI really love the backing fabric!
Greetings Marle
Just wonderful
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt!
ReplyDeleteVery cool idea with the pansies. Oh, and that backing fabric is a crack up!
ReplyDeleteThis is my third attempt to comment, so fingers crossed it gets through this time. The main quilt is a fun, happy one with its multidirectional flying geese, but you've taken it to another level with those pansies, which are just inspired. And the backing fabric is wonderful, a real find.
ReplyDelete"Ish" patterns might be responsible for my gray hair but your quilt is charming! I would've grabbed that stamp fabric, too. You scored a winner.
ReplyDeleteThe swirly shells, I had to figure it out. . .waiting patiently for the post office to open so I thought I'd snoop 😜
ReplyDeleteYou did it again; combined some gorgeous, colorful fabric and put together a lovely quilt. I would never have thought of adding the fussy cut panseys. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the flower hits you get occasionally on the front, the back is really fun too. x
