A Little Bit Of Liberty

This quilt top is now all quilted up and finished.

I went to town and some on the quilting...I think.

A combination of getting bored doing the same pattern and wanting to extend myself beyond the fail-safe meandering quilting.

To begin with, I thought I'd leave the Liberty prints void of quilting.

But there was too much poofy puffiness going on so I rectified that with some hand-quilting.

I love the backside.

It may well be my rear of the year.

I used up all the little triangle off cuts and completely randomly pieced them into a scrappy, neutral back. It was an excellent way to use up lots of little pieces.

Although my sewing room floor may beg to differ.

  2. This is one of those cases of which side is the back and which is the front - they're both equally beautiful! I love the way you did some hand quilting - good decision, in my opinion, not that you asked for it! :-)

  3. Ha! "Rear of the year" :) It *does* look like its own front, but I have to say the liberty + kimba combo really does it for me on this one. Fantastic finish!

  13. I have some D&G shoes which would match that quilt perfectly. And given they're impossible to walk in, would be best used to snuggle under that quilt in. It's gorgeous. Great idea!
