With another sozzled birdie.
I sort of, in a vague way, tried to put lightish blocks together.
I need to go back and catch one of the blocks that I missed.
Lots more Soy Amado quilts to come as I have such a pile of blocks to choose from.
Thank you.
I'll just be a bit slower putting them together as I combine selfish sewing as well.
Like these bags.
Which I love.
A great way to use so many different coloured fabrics and zips and gives you an almost instant sewing hit when time is short.

Which it is at the moment.
Cute little bags. I saw that enormous pile of blocks and decided it would hardly be a big deal if I waited until next week to send mine. :-) But they are done and will be in the mail next week.
ReplyDeleteAnother great quilt - love that owl! The little bags are gorgeous and I'm glad you're combining some of your sewing with some slower S.A. sewing as I was beginning to worry that you'd wear yourself out...
ReplyDeleteHooray for you for sewing something for yourself as well! None of us want you to burn out.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, you have a real knack for combining blocks into eye pleasing combos that really work. I really like the front and back of this quilt and I see three of my blocks in there, two of which I really dislike and was kind of embarrassed to send to you, made from orphan blocks that I detested. And yet, in here, they work!
I think the pouches are gorgeous. Is that Noodlehead's wide mouth pouch pattern? What do you plan to use them for or think their recipients might use them for? What quantity of stuff fits inside?
I can't tell what you mean by needing to catch a block that you missed. It all looks great.
ReplyDeleteLoving the bags, the green penguin one is fab! No.17 is light and floaty. I can't believe you have made 17 quilts!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely pile of pouches! Great colour contrasts there. And this might be my favourite quilt yet. Love the blocks in it.
ReplyDeletemixing in your "selfish" sewing probably keeps it fresh for the soy amandos. what a wonderful project!
ReplyDeleteI love your little bags, they are made from such cute fabrics! I've made 2 blocks for the Soy Amado quilts, but want to make a few more to include in the package (coming from Texas.) When I read that you returned from your vacation to find 300 blocks, I knew I didn't need to rush to send mine! Making the Soy Amado quilts is such a huge time commitment for you. I'm glad you made time for some 'selfish' sewing too!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! But you absolutely deserve to do some sewing for you! Those bags are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose pouches are so fun, especially the penguins!! Do you know what that fabric is? I can't believe you're already up to seventeen of those quilts! Great work!
ReplyDeleteIf you are going for the long haul you need to find a balance between sewing for soyamado and for your enjoyment! Another great quilt and pretty pouches too
ReplyDeleteYou are a machine! I can't believe how many of the Soy Amado quilts you put together. And those pouches are adorable! I love the penguin fabric, I really regret not picking some up!
ReplyDeleteBusy lady! I love the sozzled birdie - a.dor.a.ble!
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty! Such a sweet quilt. All of the blocks look great together and the back is pretty too. The little bird is just too cute. I'm glad you are taking time to do some sewing for yourself. The bags are cute.
ReplyDeleteAlison......I hope you see this....I have the worst time trying to connect with you!! :)) I have boxed up approx. 30 quilted blocks for you - the box will be mailed Monday, May 5 from Oklahoma. The blocks were made by me, and several of the Collinsville Patchworkers....it was a fun project ! Linda Pfeffer
ReplyDeleteAnother fab quilt and I love those pouches!
ReplyDeleteI am cheering for number 17! Hip hip hooray!!!
ReplyDeleteEsther
Another clever quilt and fab pile of pouches, glad you are having some personal sewing time too.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a way of putting together random blocks so well. I love the pouches and the texty penguin one is fantastic!
