Soy Amado No.54

Happy New year to you.

Still slowly chugging away at these.

Too windy and miserable to even attempt a location shoot for you for Soy Amado No. 54 so the back garden it is.

Not even going to pretend it's a nice winter's day because it's not.

Not unless horizontal rain and heavy winds are your thing.

(They're most definitely not mine)

Although I'm clinging to the thought that technically the evenings are getting lighter now.

It's just I haven't noticed it yet.

  1. I can't believe you're on number 54. It's an incredible difference you're making! Again, Bravo! It's a super combo of block choices and quilting patterns.

  2. This brings sunshine and warmth to an otherwise rain and wind filled day. :D Great job!!

  3. Another fabulous quilt! I definitely noticed the slightly longer day today, probably because, at 4.30pm, the wind had blown away all the clouds! (They're back now...)

  4. Oh my goodness. I'm a newcomer here and I have to say your quilt is totally inspiring for me! I absolutely love your fabrics and color choices! And the way you put the blocks together, too, is such a major factor in making the quilt a very harmonious whole out of disparate elements. I really hope I can achieve something like this. I have two to finish first, plus some little sewing, but I will be trying something like this, soon I hope. I just want to put the fabrics I love into interesting blocks, but I was a little unsure if it would work together. I like how your hashtag blocks repeat, but it's not entirely a hashtag quilt. I think that is one of the elements that brings it together. I don't know. :) I do know that I love it and will study it and hope that I can learn to achieve something similar in my own work. Thank you so much for sharing it. As you can probably tell by now, I'm a huge fan! Magistra13 at yahoo dot com

  7. Those are some really cool blocks! I love the curves and #s. I haven't noticed it getting any lighter either and it definitely hasn't gotten any warmer.

  12. Another great Soy Amado quilt. I find it amazing how bright and cheerful and different each one is. Yes, the weather isn't great - I hate wind too. Good excuse to stay indoors and sew.
