Contentment

Contentment is hand piecing.

Contentment is hand quilting with perle cotton but knowing when to switch to machine quilting.

Contentment is being secure in the knowledge that what up close, may look like a complete dogs dinner...

...will miraculously transform itself into a quilt with movement, colour, interest and...

...texture.

So that the only tiny bit of discontentment ...

...is that it's finished.

And the search begins for another quilt bringing contentment.

  1. Amazing! I think the mix of hand and machine works really well together.

Contentment is being able to use up those large scale fabrics you might not be as in love with anymore as backing. :)

  5. So so beautiful. You are THE master of hand piecing. I would love to see what you would do with 1" hexagons--or is that too tedious?

  12. Could you reveal how many quilts you have at your home and how many of them are handpieced or handquilted? I'm very curious:)

    1. I Only have about 20 because I recently gave about 20 away to the only hospice we have here and they are going to raffle them to make money. The hospice is a charity and receives no funds from our government so very important. Of the 20 (ish!) at home probably 2/3rds are hand pieced/quilted because I put too much of 'me' in them to be able to give them away!

Love perle to quilt with, have you tried using perle 16 in the machine, I havn`t but was told at a quilt show recently it works beautifully. I am now going to try and save ypur photo to my computer as I want to look at it again and again, fingers crossed it works.
