Soy Amado No. 28

No. 28 rates highly on the cute-ometer.

Would you look at that tactile elephant ear.

I tried to pick blocks for this quilt that used tonal or plain fabric in the main, with just splashes of feature fabrics.

And I think it worked.

And the view from the rear.

Soy Amado No. 27

I think I chose the blocks for No. 27 on the basis they were quite neutral and nothing really jarred with anything.

if I'm honest, I don't spend a huge time sorting them into possible quilts so nothing is too over thought.

And I do use every single block that has been sent to me.

There are four though that are most definitely 12" so they have been put to one side and will eventually be incorporated into a 12" block quilt.

And thank you for the secret sewing in this one.

And what lies behind.

Soy Amado No. 26

This one, in my mind, is coordinated by the pops of turquoise that appear throughout the quilt.

Again, a real mix of blocks.

This one in particular I was rather struck by.

It wasn't just the beautiful paper pieced mugs but also the use of the fabric at the bottom. It looks like the mugs are on a shelf underneath which are piles of fabric. Brilliant use of letting the fabric do all the work.

Each quilt has its own individual personality.

Which I love.

Thanks for keeping on sending me blocks.

It's been a real luxury to have enough to pick and choose from to get the right 'look' for each quilt.

Soy Amado No. 25

Looking good don't you think...although after the last quilt's outing, we are back on the washing line for this one.

Completely mad, bonkers which I love.

Big thanks to whoever made the 'soy amado' block in particular.

Soy Amado No. 24

I decided to give the washing line a break and we wandered up the road to get some more scenic shots.

This is such a happy quilt.

I was convinced there was no wind.

But clearly there was.

But we got there in the end.

I haven't put 'Soy Amado or Soy Amada on this quilt because I thought it could be for either a boy or a girl and I'll let the home decide.

This is definitely one of my favourites...if I'm allowed to have favourites ;-)

Soy Amado No. 23

A liquorice all-sorts kind of a quilt is No. 23

For me it works because they all have similar tones and hues, no matter that the block styles are so vastly different.

Anyone want to lay claim to some of the blocks?

Soy Amado No.22

I think after brown, purple seems to be quilters least favourite colour.

No. 22 is aiming to buck that perception.

When I first started quilting, purple was my favourite coloured fabric and I have quite the collection of purple in all its hues.

Working with the blocks in this quilt has reignited my interest in purple again.

And once I get back into my sewing room I'll be rifling through my lilacs, lavender, violet and amethyst because purple is never just purple.

Another delivery of quilts were made to the home last week. I did ask for pictures of quilts on beds but they'd just come out the wash and were stacked up in piles. Apparently, each quilt now has a name on it of the child it belongs to. 

Next delivery is mid June and I have asked for pictures again.
