A surfeit of stitches

Hand-quilting.

Still think it is possibly the best part of the whole 'making of a quilt' process.

Whether it is working with perle.

To give a more noticeable texture to the quilt.

Or just using regular quilting cotton.

The enjoyment is still the same.

Not exactly complete finishes I know, but linking up nonetheless to Amanda Jean's Finish It Up Friday

  2. Beautiful! I was thinking of quilting with perle cotton but had a question. Can you still pop the knot through the backing like regular thread? How do you hide the knots?

  3. Ooh, I think I started drooling when I opened up this post! I've never been fond of the process of hand quilting (it makes my hands hurt! Though maybe I'm doing something wrong :), but seeing this really makes me want to give it a try sometime. That log cabin quilt looks amazing!!

  4. I love both your quilts. I'm in the middle of hand quilting right now too, and I really love it. I love how a quilt seems softer when it's hand quilted.

  10. Hand quilting is perfect for both quilts! I find it really relaxing and will one day get round to a big quilt rather than cushions :)
