Soy Amado No. 29

Thank goodness for dog-walking friends who don't bat an eyelid when asked to stand in public, hold up a quilt and let me take photos.

This one is a sort of Sitting Bull meets Hello Kitty (yes, there is some HK fabric in there).

But I still think it works.

I was working out of my comfort zone on this one but was pleasantly surprised that it all seems to gel together.

There you go - second block from the left on bottom row - a bit of Hello Kitty :-)

Thanks dog-walking friend.

And that's a windy Soy Amado No. 29.

  2. You just go from one great creation to another with these.

  3. I just love this quilt, it all looks great together, and the name Soy Amado. I've been seeing these popping up and finally looked up what it means. I have a bunch of "orphan" blocks that I still love, too! I need to get busy making one of these.

  4. I love the mix of dark and bright blocks! It's amazing how orphan blocks we don't like anymore look great in another setting!!!

  5. It's a great looking quilt. NOW - go to the photo of the quilt back. Drop your eyes to the bottom of the quilt. There are two glowing eyes there with a sort-of mustached open mouth right below the eyes. How is that you say? Well, the eyes are bare feet and the "glow" is nail polish. The mouth is a rock formation. Who else sees this?

  6. It actually helps if you scroll down so you don't see any of the quilt itself, just the feet and the rock formation. :-)

  9. Gosh, this is SO different to any of the previous quilts. Each one is more amazing than the last. I cannot believe how you pull such different blocks into one whole quilt. Well done!!!!

  10. Bless you as you plug away on these quilts. When my kids hold quilts for me, they require 'humiliation' pay

  13. Very nice...the faces seem to give it warmth...like a "snuggle with me" feeling.
